The kiosk, which camouflages a ventilation shaft, was also an opportunity to engage passersby in the City’s history.

On one side, a large map depicts at a glance the landfill of Back Bay, which was once underwater, while the other side introduces the development of the Boston Providence Railroad, a colossal construction endeavor at the time. Detailed photographs and engravings further illustrate the historical evolution of the area, from 1630 to present.
